Soak It Up, Los Angeles: The Oberlander Prize Forum IV will address how landscape architecture can lead in tackling urban flooding, water management, and climate change challenges in Southern California. Organized by The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) in partnership with USC and SWA Group, this daylong conference will bring together international leaders, academics, critics, and journalists to explore innovative design strategies in Los Angeles and beyond. Inspired by Cornelia Hahn Oberlander Prize laureate Kongjian Yu and his pioneering “sponge cities” concept, the forum highlights Los Angeles as an ideal laboratory for advancing nature-based water management solutions. Presented with the ASLA Southern California Chapter as a partner in education, the event is part of TCLF’s ongoing Oberlander Prize programming.
