Did you know that the City of San Diego has a Community Forest Advisory Board that was established more than 25 years ago to advise the Mayor and City Council on policy issues related to urban forestry and trees? The vision of this 13-member Mayoral appointed board is to "create mechanisms for establishing, advocating and stewarding, in perpetuity, a healthy urban forest and thereby a healthy, attractive and prosperous city." This is a great time to be part of the Advisory Board - the City of San Diego is committed to planting thousands of trees with a $10M grant from U.S. Forest Service and urban tree canopy coverage is a key metric in the City’s landmark Climate Action Plan.
