ASLA was proud to be front and center at the Cuyamaca College Water Conservation Garden Spring and Butterfly Festival on May 2! 🌿🦋

Representing our ASLA San Diego Chapter were VP of Community Outreach Difan Chan and Trustee Jon Wreschinsky, who presented “How to Hire a Landscape Architect” and “What is Landscape Architecture” to festival attendees and the general public.

A special thank you to Suzie Weist from Everde Growers for providing plants that were given away to festival patrons! 🌱

We’d also like to recognize our Climate Action Co-Chair Ashlie Zinn for volunteering at the booth and helping make the event such a success.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and helped showcase the value of landscape architecture to the community!

Congratulations to our President-Elect, Dillon Diers, on being elevated to the 2026 ASLA Council of Fellows!

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) recently announced the selection of 36 distinguished members as new ASLA Fellows, recognizing individuals whose leadership, service, and body of work have made a lasting impact on the profession and society. Fellowship is among the highest honors ASLA bestows on its members, celebrating exceptional contributions to landscape architecture and the creation of inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities.

As a Partner at OJB Landscape Architecture, Dillon has spent nearly two decades shaping impactful projects across the U.S. and Mexico, with a design approach rooted in planting design, environmental responsibility, and sense-of-place. His dedication to advancing landscape architecture through innovative design, advocacy, collaboration, and community service has earned him this prestigious recognition.

Be sure to catch Dillon’s presentation at the National ASLA 2026 Conference: “Lights, Camera, Green: Recasting the Studio Lot for Ecological and Social Health” on Friday, September 18.
