DESCRIPTION:About the Design Awards\nThe ASLA San Diego Excellence in Design Awards are the ultimate recognition of design achievement for landscape architecture firms and projects in and outside of the San Diego region. These awards celebrate the innovation and creativity found among the practitioners of landscape architecture. \nProgram \nThe San Diego Chapter\, American Society of Landscape Architects is conducting the 2020 Design Awards Program to recognize professional excellence for outstanding works of landscape architecture and environmental planning. \nEligibility \nProject entries will be accepted from any individual\, firm\, non-profit organization\, public agency or academic institution if one of the project’s participants includes at least one of the following: \n\nSan Diego Chapter\, ASLA Member and Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California (Projects at any location).\nASLA Member and Licensed Landscape Architect in any state (San Diego County projects only).\nNon-Member Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California (San Diego County projects only).\n\nEntry Form and FAQs\nBe sure to completely read the entry form instructions and Frequently Asked Questions so you will: \n\nSend the completed Entry Form and Payment to be received before the Entry PPT template and upload link will be sent to you.\nInclude the name of both the person entering and the person who may receive the Award if they are different persons.\nCalendar the first PPT deadline – March 2 so you don’t miss that deadline.\nObtain the signature of your client/principal on the project so entry forms can be processed.\nContact one of our Co-Chairs if you are not sure what category a project should be submitted under.\nComplete separate entry forms and payments for each entry.\n\nUpload the Entry Form and FAQ at link below\n2020 ASLA-SD Design Awards – Call for Entries\nDesign Awards Entry Payment Portal LINK

SUMMARY:HALS - Historic American Landscape Survey - Online Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This month’s HALS meeting will occur online on March 25th. Invitations will be sent to regular attendees\, but is open to anyone interested. If you would like a link and call in number\, please email Amy Hoffman at amy@ktua.com\nOur current efforts are focused on building an ongoing database of significant landscapes in San Diego\, based on last fall’s What’s Out There Weekend events. This database will be used for coordination with the national HALS program and the State Historic Preservation Office. \nWe are also supporting Vonn Marie May in preparation of a HALS report for the San Diego Presidio site.
