American Society of Landscape Architects, San Diego 2012 Design Awards
The San Diego Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects announces winners of their 2012 design awards, recognizing professional excellence for outstanding works of landscape architecture and environmental planning that promote an enhanced quality of life in San Diego County and beyond.
Forty-nine (49) landscape architectural projects designed by members of ASLA San Diego were submitted and reviewed by a multi-industry jury in November. The prestigious jury included: Calvin Abe, ASLA – AHBE Landscape Architects; Baxter Miller, ASLA – bmla Landscape Architecture; Joyce Cutler-Shaw, Artist in Residence, UCSD School of Medicine; David Mitchell, ASLA – San Jose City Parks & Recreation; Phyllis Van Doren, Senior Editor – San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles; Rob Wellington-Quigley, FAIA – Rob Quigley Architecture & Planning.
The project submittals included Environmental Solutions; Commercial, Institutional and Urban Design; Communications; REsidential; Landmark; Planning and Analysis; and Parks & Recreation. The following 7 firms were presented awards including 8 Merit Awards, 3 Honor Awards, and the top Presidents Award for their outstanding projects.
Also recognized was the 2012 Community Grant Project, the Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead.
